My IG is feeling very lemony this week. 🍋🍋

And this lemon mille feuille is to die for! It’s made with several layers of phyllo dough, lemon curd, and whipped cream. It’s a match made in heaven.

The doors are officially open! Are you ready to make Patisserie-style choux pastries (like the ones in Paris?) I know I sure am!

Join us for my new baking series called, “Fou for Choux.” It means “Crazy for Choux!”

In these online classes, we’ll master the art of pâte à choux (think cream puffs, profiteroles, etc).

Here’s what we’re making:
April 9th: Chouquettes, Gougères
April 23rd: Lemon Cream Puffs
May 8th: Classic French Eclairs
May 21st: Choux 4 Ways (learn how to do more with pate a choux!)
June 11th: Paris-Brest

Happy French Friday! Today, let’s talk about eclairs.

Do you like eclairs? I was never a huge fan because sometimes the pastry cream seems really thick and heavy. And while I love pastry cream, basic eclairs have never gotten me overly excited.

Until I found a way to make them better. My recipe has a lighter filling so that it’s a more enjoyable experience.

I believe in using citrus in as many ways as possible in desserts during the winter.

I’m not sure if an orange roll is a dessert? Maybe just the perfect treat for Le Gouter, or perfect for breakfast or brunch. But honestly, I don’t care what time of day it is. I’ll eat one..or two or three of these without a second thought!

It’s the second French Friday of 2024, and I’m so excited to get this serious rolling!

Every time I go to Paris, I have a looooonnnng list of bakeries, patisseries, gourmet grocery stores, and more that I want to visit.

On my list of places you absolutely can’t miss is Galeries Lafayette Gourmet, which is right next to the main Galeries Lafayette.

I don’t think I can even begin to do this place justice. They have something for everyone, including both sweet and savory foods. Plus they have an amazing section of fun foods to buy to take home as a souvenir (although if you live there, you might just call it a gourmet your go-to gourmet grocery store).

Galeries Lafayette Gourmet is situated in the Opera District, aka the 9th Arrondissement.

Some of my favorite stops at Le Gourmet include:

✨ L’éclair de Génie (the lemon yuzu is perfection)

✨ Philippe Conticini (try the Paris Brest)

✨ Pierre Hermé - any macaron is good

✨ Jean Paul Hévin (the passion fruit chocolate is 😱)

✨ Chez Meunier (everything looks amazing!)

It’s in a fun and bustling area, and I never miss a chance to stop there. Not to mention all the great shopping next door at their main shopping center.
